The New Version of Digg is Going to be a Huge Success on International Level

As the most of us already know, the new version of Digg is just about to come. We are not going to discuss about the eventual disadvantages of the new version of Digg but that doesn’t mean that I do not believe the new version will be perfect. Every change has its advantages and disadvantages. I will rather speak here about something what tickles my mind for a while.

For a while, I was thinking about Digg’s fail on international level. Digg has been very successful during the past years in English language spoken Internet market, however, Digg has not managed to achieve significant success on international level at all. When we look at the success of Facebook and Twitter on international level, we see that Digg’s success on international level is depending only from its platform which hasn’t offered much space for non-English publisher in past time.

For example, StumbleUpon has done much more on this plan with its platform which is followers-basedĀ  and I believe that one of the most important advantages of the new version of Digg is going to be this followers-based system which will allow Digg to spread into international market.

The actual version of Digg.com is great but with such design digg has boxed itself into English-language spoken market only. I believe there wasn’t a single popular story on Digg’s front page from some website which is not written in English.

The new followers-based version of Digg will be revolution on the international market and I believe that Digg’s main hope is their eventual penetration into international market.

It is very easy to predict the success of new version on international level because it will be followers-based and every user will have its own content from friends and publishers which he chose. The only thing what Digg needs to do after launchingĀ  new platform is to provide versions of the platform in other languages, something like Facebook did.
