The New Version 4 of Digg.com is About to Come
I haven’t been active on my blog for a while because I was pretty busy with other things and also I have to admit that I have not been spared by this summer’s laziness, too.
I was following the most of happenings related to main social media websites, especially Digg.com which is going to make some major changes of its platform.
As many of you already know Digg is going to become a little different social media platform and it seems that it is going to be something like Twitter or StumbleUpon.
I do not want to discuss much about the advantages or disadvantages of the new version of Digg, I will just say I hope Digg will stay as cool as it is now.
We all know that lot of Digg users are people who are involved in web design, web development, etc. and Digg has been pretty good place where those guys could get some traffic, promote their content and get some backlinks and before all, Digg exists thanks to such users who are contributing interesting content. The new version of Digg will change some of the crucial things about how Digg works and that is what is the most worrying fact.
I am little bit afraid that Digg could loose the spirit which its community had after those changes. However, I haven’t fully tested new version of Digg so I am not going to talk too much as I said.
The news is that Digg has recently closed the option for registering new users, which means that new version of Digg is going to be active for all users very soon, probably before the end of next week.
I am really curious how those changes are going to work and will they be good or bad for Digg. But, let’s wait a little bit more and we shall see.
P.S.
While I was writing this article Digg seems to be acting pretty strange. I have receiving “Http/1.1 Internal Server Error 11″ which might be the sign that they’re putting up the new version online already.
