Just another WordPress weblog… Or maybe not? :D

Should you remove that Digg friend?

digg-1pcu2akvjxe I have recently experienced that some of top Digg users are blindly unfriending others who are inactive for a few weeks.

I know that inactive friends are not so useful but if they are inactive in present it doesn’t means that they will be inactive in future.

It is also common that some users unfriend those who didn’t digg more than 2 of their last 10 submissions on Digg. It can be good reason to delete someone but not everyone.

It seems that some top users on Digg forget to see submissions stats for users that they decided to remove from mutual friends. There is a lot of “useful” Digg users that do not digg much but they submit rarely and that makes them “golden friends”.

So, I would recommend to those who want to have successful Digg account to watch submission stats rather than digging stats before they are removing someone from mutual friends.

  1. Ugh, I liked! So clear and positively.
    Thank you

  2. In case if you have to be inactive for some days, you can mention it in your profile bio, so that your friends see that and prevent them from removing you from their list…

  3. @George: Yes it is true, it would be nice from them to leave such note but sometimes they just don’t have a time to do that or they forget to do it… I still believe that it is bad strategy to remove your good digg friend only because he is inactive
