Godaddy.com vs Domain.com - Where to buy a domain name?
I often buy domains and I could say that I am little bit addicted in that manner. I have done some efforts to cure such “addiction” but I still have a plenty of domain names and when it comes to paying for them I need to choose best company where to do that.
There are a lot of domain name sellers on the Internet but when I buy domain name which is always very important to me, I want to buy it at most secure place and at the same time I want to spend as less money as it is possible.
I found that Godaddy.com and Domain.com are probably most popular services for buying domains.
Godaddy.com is large company and they often offer cheap domain names, cheaper than other domain registers. But everything has it’s price. I found that Godaddy’s design is too much “spammy” for my taste. Buying domain there can be really torture, especially for beginners. Godaddy tries to make you buy more and more. While you’re going through the process of domain name registration, they offer you to buy their hosting, another cool domain and dozen of similar features. Whole process is complicated and you have to give your maximal attention unless you want to pay for something that you didn’t want to buy. I got frustrated with this on Godaddy several times and I decided not to use them anymore. I use them only to buy .info domain names because first year of .info domain name registration costs about one or two dollars which is far away cheaper compared to others.
I found that Domain.com has plenty of similar options as same as Godaddy, and at the same time, it is very simple and it has user friendly interface.
I can buy domain in a few minutes and not to be disturbed and frustrated with some additional offers that I am not interested at all. Renewal process and other options are simple. I had some issue with one domain and I found that they have pretty responsible support. I got contacted by them in 24 hours. Domain names on Domain.com are little bit more expensive than at Godaddy.com but you can find some coupons and get similar price. I don’t mind to pay dollar or two more when I get simple user interface which saves my nerves.

Engine.com or BestOnlineBooks.com are the worst examples of the domain names you can ever imagine. Domain Name Improvement
Most popular does not always = best. I’ve always been happy w/ Namcheap, and recently Name.com. DomainMonster is also up and coming. There are so many registrars out there now
My beef w/ Godaddy is similar to yours, but mainly their checkout process which seems to try to separate you from more money than you were planning to spend if you’re not careful. They stick a default of 2 year registration instead of 1 year, and i’ve found when you change it to 1 year, then leave the cart and come back it resets back to 2 years. not quite what one would expect is it? That and the other 3 pages of upsell you have to wade through. I’ve also had bad experience with their email support, although i did find their phone support was good. I stil have some domains with them, though not my first or even second or third choice of registrar. others may feel differently.
I have not tried domain.com yet.
Amazing! Not clear for me, how offen you updating your http://www.gt1987.com.
Thank you

Nice post friend I will still stay with our all godaddy
Real useful info. I’ve been getting ready to purchase a domain for my music ( http://onlifesupportmusic.blogspot.com ) and I found that a lot were similarly priced. I opted for domain.com from your suggestions just avoid the spammy sign up and the possible annoying periodic emails asking for upgrades.
